Unknown T has had an extremely productive 2020 so far.
Bursting onto the scene at the start of 2018 with “Homerton B”, Unknown built on his rise and refused to remain known for one breakout hit. The tracks followed with “Throwback”, “MEAT” and features on “Medusa” with WSTRN before “Leave Dat Trap” featuring AJ Tracey.
These were all before his arrest in July which followed by a charge of murder. The new and promising UK Drill rapper appeared to have entered the scene and left before even taking his coat off. The rapper remained in jail for the rest of 2019 and thus no music was to follow. At the start of 2020 though, he was released as he was cleared of his previous charges. “Fresh Home” was the first drop of the year which was followed by “Squeeze & Buss”.
Features on iLL BLU’s “Dumpa” and Tana’s “Ride & Clutch Pt. 2” appeared and then the announcement of his debut project. Whether this project would have actually been released last year instead remains unknown (pardon the pun). Apart from, “Leave Dat Trap”, the tracklist is full of tracks that are either new to our ears or were released this year. “Deh Deh” and “Main Squeeze” featuring Young T & Bugsey were released just before the album release.
Other features include Young Adz, M Huncho and KO & V9. Unknown clearly wanted to work hard on this project. Not giving into the temptation to pad out the album with tracks that we heard two years ago such as “Homerton B”. Not that there is anything wrong with “Homerton B” but its clear that many artists like to pad out projects with Singles we heard years before the album dropped.
