Listen: Pop Smoke’s posthumous album delayed but first single “Make It Rain” featuring Rowdy Rebel is here

Pop Smoke’s posthumous album was due to be dropped today. As announced via Instagram by former manager, Steven Victor the album has been pushed back to July out of respect of the current protests and the death of George Floyd.

Steven Victor wrote:

“Music is the tool of revolution. We have been watching, along with the rest of the world, as long overdue change starts to take root. We have seen Pop’s music become the soundtrack of the moment, unifying the masses.

Given recent events, we have decided to delay the release of his album out of respect for the movement. “Make It Rain” will be released this Friday, June 12th. The album will be released on July 3rd.

Please join us in celebrating Pop Smoke’s legacy. 💫💫💫.”

The hook uses the lyrics from Pop’s verse on Lil Tjay’s recent track “Zoo York”. The track features Brooklyn rapper, Rowdy Rebel, who is currently incarcerated and is associated with Bobby Shmurda.
