Tory Lanez has established himself as one of the biggest R&B/Trap R&B singers in whole world. Supplying variety and a versatility of sounds to a scene that, in recent years, has converged with Trap to be less like the R&B of the early 2000’s. Nevertheless, there are a number of artsits that are still able to supply that early 21st century sound and Tory Lanez is defintly one of them.
Many artists leave their work for an album and tend to stay away from EP’s and mixtapes. Tory Lanez popular Chixtape’s have been gracing fans ears since 2011 when the first edition was released. Since then, he has come on leaps and bounds in his career yet he has continued to drop more mixtapes and Chixtape’s.
Tory Lanez aims to sample and adapt some of R&B’s biggest hits but make them his own at the same time. A feet that is harder than people may believe. It is also a risky business when a whole body of work could be classed as trash with one single poorly done sample/rendition or cover of a beloved R&B classic.
The Chixtape4 edition was dropped back in 2017. The mixtape is not available via any streaming platform and only Youtube but it features samples/covers from R&B hits such as Pretty Ricky “Grind With Me”, Mario’s “Just A Friend” and “I Need A Girl” by P.Diddy.
There is not an official release date for Chixtape5 but we do know it’s coming sometime next month. Announcing it via his Instagram, Tory Lanez teased fans with the prospect that the mixtape is expected to feature samples from the likes of T-Pain’s “I’m Sprung”.
