House of Pharoahs have just released their collaborative album with producer Nyge.

The collective of six rappers, have had a patient rise to the ears of many but they’re not necessarily looking to force a sound or grab everyone’s attention straight away. In an interview with VICE in 2018, one of the collective Kev explains that they’re not trying to fit into a particular sound or group but are more focused on themselves and if people like it then that’s great.

Attention was brought to the group when their track “Run With Me (RWM)” was released and received air play from Frank Ocean on his Apple, Beats 1 radio show. The song features on their first EP, a 15 track project entitled Real Faces.

Their recent EP, Seasons is a 6 track body of work with every track produced by Nyge. Nyge has worked with plenty of big names in the UK scene, most notably AJ Tracey. With this being said, you can get an idea as to what sort of sound this EP is coming with.

Even though the group they state they just make the music and don’t necessarily stick to a particular genre. Their latest EP comes with a mix of Rap, Trap, Afro-Swing and R&B.

With the UK scene not boasting too many collectives of these genres, successes such as Belly Squad and NSG are the main examples.

With not many groups currently being present in the genres presented above, Belly Squad and NSG being the main competition, it will be interesting to see how House of Pharaohs continue to grow…
